three + a silence for croydon

three + a silence for croydon was developed through a close collaboration with the aoj, a community of jamaican elders based in croydon on different ways to explore, record and celebrate their legacies as black croydonians

a space to reflect on croydon, its deep history and its people.

the piece was performed and recorded by players from chineke! orchestra and was presented as a 5 channel sound as installation conisting of vintage hi fis and radios, the score in full and a small library of books on black british history, croydon and music at turf projects.
